The smooth curves and rich colour of Christine Cathie's glass sculptures illustrate the fluidity of the form and a sense of movement captured. The works are large and solid and though the work itself is heavy, it appears weightless and delicate. Cathie's glass works are inspired by natural forms such as New Zealand's undulating terrain and coastal escarpments, created from cast glass. The interplay of light and shadow makes these forms a delight to view.
